About This Ministry
Lighthouse Outreach Ministries, Inc. (LOM) was founded by Elder Michael F. Owen in 1993. The ministry began as a community outreach primarily serving senior citizens in the Jackson, Mississippi area. LOM's first organized activity was the conducting of monthly outreach programs at nursing home facilities in the Jackson, Mississippi area. Volunteers from various denominational traditions came together to witness to, and encourage the nursing home residents. Since that then, this particular outreach has continued to be an important part of LOM's ministry.
Over the years, God has blessed the Ministry to grow and expand. Under the auspices of Lighthouse, several departments have been developed including: Nursing Home Outreach; Youth Ministry; Street Corner Ministry; Evangelism; Community Assets Network, Inc.; Public Relations; Amazing Truth Bible Study Institute; Development and Finance; Radio Ministry; and Turning~Point Mission Center, Inc.
Lighthouse Outreach Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 tax exempt ministry. It is also authorized by the State of Mississippi to solicit and receive contributions.
