Our programs and services are designed to discover and address issues adversely affecting the quality of life of families. We believe meeting a person’s physical, emotional and mental needs is part of meeting spiritual needs. If a person is hungry,

it’s difficult for that person to focus on the spiritual. If a person is uneducated about finances, it’s difficult for that person to make spiritually sound decisions about his money. If a person is trapped in unhealthy relationships or living situations, it’s difficult for that person to see the benefit of a Christ-centered life. So we work

to meet everyday needs so we can help people reap spiritual benefits.

FINANCE / EDUCATION

Family Finance Workshops: We present periodic workshops to help families address real issues of finance. These workshops are aimed at helping families learn how to manage their finances wisely so they can have a more peaceful relationship with money. We address matters of debt management, budgeting, tithing and giving, investing, saving and more.

HOME LIFE

10 Great Dates Program for Married Couples: We believe marriage is a sacred institution and should be protected. Protecting one’s marriage means investing time into building the relationship between a husband and wife. It also means nurturing that relationship through proper communication, time spent together and pursuing shared goals. This program is aimed at helping couples reconnect, put fun back into their relationship and enjoy each other.

Parenting Classes: Being a parent is never easy, and our parenting classes acknowledge this fact. These classes help address common parenting issues, as well as provide an open forum for discussing child-rearing. These classes, as do all our programs and services, provide sound training from a spiritual perspective.

WELLNESS

Fitness and Nutrition: Paying attention to our health is an important part of living well. We have a fitness and nutrition program that is free to participants, and provides for twice-weekly nutrition classes as well as a 90-day gym membership. This helps participants get a fresh start when it comes to their health so they can manage and eliminate lifestyle-related health problems.

Food Pantry: Our food pantry provides vital nutrition for needy families. We regularly serve about 25 families a month, plus an additional 10 families weekly on an emergency basis.

Nursing Home Ministry: Our Nursing Home Ministry provides care, encouragement and support to elderly residents. This ministry provides an essential link to the outside world and friendship for many who may otherwise receive little to no visitors, contact or support from family or others.

Health Fair: Our health fairs provide important information on lifestyle and chronic conditions affecting many in our community. The health fairs provide information on diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, obesity and a host of other health concerns.

SPIRITUAL

Weekly Bible study and training: Weekly Bible study and training provides an opportunity to help our members and community learn and grow spiritually. Our Bible study and training program focuses on helping participants apply Biblical concepts to daily life in a practical and useful way.

Praise in Motion Dance: Our Praise in Motion dance team is a popular part of our ministry. It is regularly invited to participate in community, church and regional events.

Puppetry Team: The Puppetry Team encourages writing, acting and public speaking skills. This ministry brings together young and older members to share God’s Word in an entertaining and engaging format.

Children’s Outreach Ministry: This ministry serves the leadership needs of children and youth by providing a safe and nurturing environment for them to learn and grow. Members are encouraged to plan projects, take on meaningful tasks and perform in areas that showcase their spiritual gifts.

Street Corner Ministry: This outreach ministry allows Lighthouse Outreach Ministry and Turning Point Mission Center

to take our work into the community, so residents become familiar with what we do. This is also an opportunity for members to take on leadership roles and showcase their talents and abilities.

SUCCESS

Business development training and related services: Our training services are aimed at removing the barriers to success that face many in our community. These training sessions and related services provide information to help participants enhance their job skills, pursue business ownership and climb the ladder

of success so they can become greater contributors to their communities.

Building Bridges to Success: The Building Bridges to Success Program is an interactive empowerment program aimed at helping low-to-moderate income residents improve their life skills. The program addresses parenting, workplace readiness, educational opportunities and money management.
